Client: iScrap App Project: Directing and Shooting
iScrapApp hired me to do a commercial and info series on their new phone app. The project was relatively simple and was put together completely by myself and a producer. Shooting began at 10am and by noon we were editing. Gotta love the SD work flow. By the end of the day we had a rough cut of the project which was ready for fx and motion graphics. Client: &Co/Verizon Project: Rotoscoping
This is a project worth posting from my older work. I was hired to rotoscope people and scene elements that change from black to white independently of each other. I have to admit this was one big project, especially rotoscoping the multiple band member scene. Very tedious and as I remember 10 seconds took like three weeks for the hardest scenes. The film is called “Grey Woman” and was directed by the very talented Bridgette Valentine. This project did lead to subsequent work on the film “The Namesake” which I’ll post later.

Client: あ!PoN Project: Motion Graphics and Producer

Now this is an interesting project that I have been doing over the past few years, my responsibilities are to produce and host the shows. Interviews are set up and then everything down to editing is my responsibility. Opening motion graphics are also done by me and changes to each interview.

Client: SpikeTV Project: Motion Graphics
Another quick turnaround project for the Weekend Pre-Game on Spike. This was a relatively create from scratch project that took no time to make. The fun part was making the pre-defined background for the host to speak and present on, which was a quick composite of a few elements. PS5 comes in real handy for this. End results are approved and on air. I’ve included a breakdown of the comp just for fun (Again nothing crazy but just as interesting).

Client: Ariane Systems Project: Character Art and Colors.

This was a great change of pace, teaming up with Michael Sutton Long and Ivy TV. I was brought in to do character designs for this commercial. A three week project with art created in Sketchbook Pro and inked and colored in Illustrator. Initially the art was to be animated but due to budget constraints we went the motion graphics route. Client: Fire Movement Project: Music Video Directing, Shooting, and Editing

Finally after months of waiting and reshoots, “Chilling in the Concrete Jungle is done, and for an on the fly its received quite favorable reviews. Although I think for the next video with Fire Movement I’m gonna take the time to get some storyboards down like with my other videos. Makes editing way easier. In any case have a look. It’ll be on DVDs and Asian TV as well! (I’ll link em as the show up).

Client: SpikeTV Project: Motion Graphics
A quick turnaround project for the Weekend Pre-Game on Spike (it had to air the next day). Basically had to create everything from scratch to fit the shows existing graphic format. With a new show segment about “Busted Celebrities”, I came up with this campy and fun intro seg. I would have used bars but there was another segment already existing called “Locked Up”.

Project: Shooting with the GoProHD Hero

Just got the GoPro HD Hero, and I must say I am truly impressed at what this little guy can do. It’s durable, and  waterproof. I took it out twice snowboarding and came back with some wonderfully detailed full HD footage which I can slow down with out loss in quality. Amazing! Just offloaded the files into my computer and boom quickly editing with iMovie and I was able to get some great stuff together. Can’t wait to try this out next with FCP! This thing just opened up a whole new door for shooting! Very excited and pleased!
